The Marion Jewell Hay Award recognizes the most outstanding Phi Beta Kappa member graduating from FSU each semester.

Marion Jewell Hay was a Florida State professor from 1929-1967 and a long-time member of and an active participant in our Phi Beta Kappa chapter.

To be nominated for this award, a student must not only show academic excellence by graduating Summa Cum Laude, he or she must also demonstrate outstanding achievement in creative scholarly activity or research, supported by a strong letter of nomination from faculty in the student's major department.
